Last night, a brave bunch of Ravens entered the Arcatraz for the first time. Indeed, not only was this their first time in the instance, but their first time in any of the Tempest Keep instances.
Daarkin's lock-picking skills got us in, and we proceeded to work our way through the Blood Elves and the monsters they'd been so ineffectively guarding.
The first boss took us several attempts. The fight requires a degree of mobility from the whole party, as well as tank-focused healing, so that the other party members have to look to their own health. It was quite a challenge, and we were just starting to discuss bypassing him and heading to the Khara key when we managed to drop him. Kezzle got some nice shoulders.
Pushing onwards, we had a couple of "oops" with trash, but got to the second and third bosses pretty easily. The second went down on the second attempt, as did the third. In both cases, we could learn the fight pretty quickly, and could use the fly back time to discuss revised tactics. Leafshine got some nice Kitty-cat gloves and Daarkin took away a large prismatic shard.
The push onwards to the last boss was pretty tough. Lots of consumables used, a fair number of deaths and the odd wipe, too. But, around 11.30pm, we made it there.
Just one Blood Elf, we though? A warrior by the look of it?
How little we knew.
I'm not gonna spoil the event for those who've never been to the Arcatraz, but we did it in one go. It was one of the most intense 10 minutes of WoW I've played, with all five of us utterly focused and communicating well to deal with each new challenge as it game up. No death, although I think we blew every cooldown and consumable we had between us.
Net result: everyone got their part of the Khara key, and we all had a blast.
I really didn't think we had a hope in hell of clearing it first time out, but we go. Go, go Team Raven!
